You can canoe a forty kilometre canoe route from Åkers Styckebruk to the sea in Trosa passing beautiful nature, narrow sounds with steep cliffs and beautiful lakes. Despite the fact that the area around Marviken is considered to be Södermanland’s most genuine wilderness the lakes are easy to paddle and have just a few lifts. You can rent canoes at a few places along the Åkers Styckebruk–Trosa canoe route. Kanotkungen in Mariefred transports canoes and equipment at no cost to the canoe waters around Mariefred and Åkers Styckebruk. For a fee you can also have the canoes transported to other places.
Every day except Mondays och Fridays Kanotkungen is renting out canoes at lake Frösjön in Gnesta. They start renting out at 13.00 and returns by 17.00. You can easily paddle around in Gnesta and the surrounding areas. This is shorter routes which is perfect for family with lots of opportunities to swim and take a break on an island.
You can also rent canoes at the swimming area and camping place at Klämmingsbergsbadet, just outside Gnesta. Open in summer every day between 11.00 and 19.00.
Stjärnhov is located in the heart of Södermanland, by Naten beach. From here you can paddle over the lake and then glide down meandering Natängsån river towards Lake Båven, a breeding ground for both the black-throated loon and the county bird of Södermanland – the osprey. Natängsån river offers a true jungle adventure to suit all ages.
